Terms & Conditions

Please read through these terms and conditions in order to avoid future misunderstandings and dissatisfaction.

  1. All quotations will be valid for 30 days only, unless otherwise communicated on special requests (mostly in cases such as year-end corporate gifting and quotes for wedding items where quotes are requested well in advance sometimes).
  2. Once deposit payment has been received, a quotation will be treated as approved and accepted as per final quote sent. Please ask for amended quotes, before paying the deposit, in order for us to work with the correct and approved information.
  3. 80% – 85% NON-refundable deposit is payable in advance in order to confirm an order. The deposit percentage will be determined by the type of order; however, in most cases we only require 80%.
  4. Orders will only be couriered once the final payment (outstanding amount) is received and reflects in our bank account.
  5. Final payments may be done in cash on collection of an order or strictly via EFT prior to courier getting booked.
  6. We make use of The Courier Guy, Pudo, Postnet and in some case Pep Paxi. However, the customer is welcome to arrange for their own couriers to collect from us or in person themselves.
  7. The customer is liable for 100% of the courier costs. Should we quote on courier costs and the cost turns out to be more than the quoted amount, the courier’s invoice will be sent to the customer as proof in order for the customer to pay in the difference of the amount.

These cases are very rare, but can cause courier costs to work out more than the initial quoted amount due to:

  • Order’s packaging being bigger than originally planned;
  • Order’s weight is more than expected; AND / OR
  • Outlined area that may have surcharges
  1. JMR Laser will NOT be held responsible or liable for any breakages / damages caused by the couriers / drivers from customers as from when the parcel leaves our premises. We will always package the items in such a way that it will not easily get damaged / broken. For glassware or other easily breakable items, we will add “FRAGILE” stickers on the package.
  2. Refunds – due to most of our items being personalised (ie. with names or company logos) and for the fact that we cannot resell such products to somebody else; therefore we do not offer any refunds on our products.
  3. No guarantees or warranties will apply, as we test all our products before we send it out in working condition. This applies in cases such as electrical or battery-operated items like custom / personalised lights, watches, clocks, pens, zippos to click, bottles to screw open and close, wallets for zips and clips to work, etc.
  4. ALL our prices include designing and setup fees, up to THREE edits. Thereafter a fee of R50 per edit / setup will apply. Note: correction of details (eg. contact details, e-mail addresses), spelling or grammar is not seen as an edit.
  5. JMR Laser has the right to upload any photos of our products onto the website, Facebook or share on WhatsApp or via e-mail for marketing purposes only. Should you wish that we DO NOT use your order’s photos for marketing purposes or whatsoever, please stipulate in advance.

  6. QUALITY:
  • Printing – our quality is as good as the quality of the image we have received from the customer to work from. All our printers are set to print at highest quality in order for our customers to be left satisfied with what they receive.
  • Engraving on Wood – certain types of wood (such as Bamboo, Meranti and Pine as examples) might have high points and low points, giving an effect of linear engraving. This will be due to the wood being harder at some spots and much softer at other spots. However, it always comes out nice and detailed. (Note that this will not always be the case, but it should be brought under the customers’ attention.)
  • Engraving on Leather – such as wallets and belts – we cannot determine in advance what the engraving will look like in the end, as the staining on the leather might vary, eg. being deeper on some wallets or other leather products than others (even in same batches received from same supplier). We cannot take any responsibility if not all the engraving comes out the same on all our leather products – especially photos on wallets. Leather engraved items, such as wallets, will also give off a type of dust in the beginning which will become less until no more over a short period of time – as it gets burned into leather and not printed on. This is normal. In some cases, the engraving will become lighter, but will not fade away completely (as it is lasered / burned into the leather).
  • Engraving of Photos – each and every photo gets edited differently, due to the lighting and shadows of each photo being different. We will always advise the customer if a photo will work or not. However, if the customer is determined to use a photo which we have suggested will not work very nicely, it is not our mistake if the customer is not happy / satisfied with the end results. Engraving of photos on wallets might in some cases only be viewed on an angle and not directly straight upfront, as photos are engraved in grey scale with lighter and darker areas, and not black-only like wording. This means that photos are engraved in different depths and gradients in order to get a nice end result.

CLOTHING – CUSTOM MADE:

  1. Standard lead time is 4 – 8 weeks, however we can manufacture infinity dresses and bathrobes in shorter lead time.
  2. All dresses and other clothing items are custom made according to the customer’s preferred style and colour.
  3. All dresses and other clothing items are made according to measurements – if the customer cannot come to get measurements taken at the seamstress for any reason, we will attach an information sheet guiding you on how to take the measurements we require. Some items (eg. bathrobes) only work on size, such as Small, Medium, Large, etc.
  4. Floral material / fabrics are not always available according to the customer’s liking – however, we can courier sample fabric for colour and texture confirmation on the customer’s expense.
  5. All our prices include the material used, as well as labour of the clothing items. We offer FREE consultations to take measurements and to do fittings.
  6. For COURIER ONLY orders – we will not take in orders of clothing / dresses that requires fitting. For any other orders, where fitting is required or preferred AND possible, we normally do one to two fittings with the customers.

Please Take Note:

  • All WOODEN products made from 22mm wood, will have a 5mm – 10mm tolerance as these items are handmade and neatly worked off. Eg. Docking stations, handmade bottle openers, wooden cutting baords (etc) might be 5mm – 10mm larger or smaller than advertised size.
  • Custom made clothing wear will be adjusted at no extra cost – ONLY IF the measurements taken or received were correct OR if we were informed in advance that the person is on diet or pregnant and might lose or gain some weight and will require minor adjustments closer to the time.
  • All custom made clothing wear can be adjusted at extra cost – IF the measurements received from the customer(s) were wrongly taken and quite major adjustments will be required in such cases.
  • If it is a “Courier Only” order and adjustments are needed (which does not happen regularly) the courier of the dresses to us and back will be at the customer’s expense, as we take that the measurements were correctly provided from the start.
  • PURCHASED clothing wear, such as socks, T-Shirts, Jockey Pants, etc. which are NOT being custom made, has a NO RETURN / NO REFUND policy. JMR Laser will not be held responsible if the size is correct on the label as per ordered information, but malfunctions in productivity by suppliers, ie. if it does not fit properly as per size purchased, but correct size was purchased according to label (small, medium, etc.). We do purchase ALL our “buy-in” stock from trusted suppliers with high quality reputation.
  • If a certain item or specific dress CANNOT be found on our website, please send us an e-mail or Whatsapp with the image attached of what you have in mind, in order for us to quote you on.
